WWU students are saying NO.

"I am concerned with how this increase in fees would not only put additional strain on our struggling student population, but would not even go towards non-NCAA sports clubs."

I want to focus on a more specific and critical AI policy because of the negative impacts AI usage has on both our education and our environment. I want to be an advocate and resource for disabled students, as a physically disabled student myself, and push for more accessible campus infrastructure and policies. I want to secure more funding for non-NCAA clubs and activities on campus. Finally, I want to introduce protections for undocumented students targeted by ICE, and support financially struggling students with their cost of living, food, and healthcare.

"I do not support the $26.79 per quarter per student net increase from the proposed partial defunding of our S&A fee to replace with a new intercollegiate athletics fee."

Katherine is running for Senator of Western's College of Business and Economics. She supports the S&A quarterly fee because it allocates funding toward programs and activities across Western, and notes that student loan and financial aid programs are funded from 3.5% of S&A revenues, which would decrease if the ballot measure passed.

Katherine says she is a firm supporter of funding and fees that support student services and programs benefiting Western's student body and community as a whole. She is asking students to vote from May 4-May 10.

"I am running on a platform of Freedom, Democracy, Justice, and Truth."

Maxine believes that all people have basic human rights to the things they need to live a successful life, and that those rights should not be infringed upon. Their platform centers on further democratizing WWU's institutions, real inclusion with support for first-generation, low-income, and minoritized students, and ensuring Western can be a safe community that can incite change on campus and beyond.
